Training for ACDR Arbitrators and Staff

Training: Arbitration and Case Management Dates: 24-30 September, 2019
Venue: Taj Hotel, Colombo – Sri Lanka
Participants: Afghanistan Center for Commercial Dispute Resolution (“ACDR”), Maldives International Arbitration Center (“MIAC”) and ICLP Arbitration Center – Sri Lanka

CLDP sponsored a team of 4 arbitrators namely Ms. Freshta Zuhal Rahman, Mr. Zahid Safi, Mr. Abdul Subhan Misbah and Ms. Shahrzad Shamim, and ACDR staff to attend a 1-week training on Arbitration and Effective Case Management of Arbitration Cases in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 24-30 September, 2019.

Arbitrators and Staff of MIAC and ICLP Arbitration Center also attended the training. The arbitration section of the training was led by international arbitrators and ACDR arbitrators were trained on important topics of international commercial arbitration including award writing. Furthermore, the case management training was led by legal counsels of Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (“HKIAC”). The case managers of ACDR were trained on how to effectively manage arbitration cases including procedural matters of the arbitration proceedings.

The training provided networking opportunity for ACDR Staff and Arbitrators with international arbitration experts, Maldivian and Sri Lankan Arbitrators.
