ACDR in cooperation with National Procurement Authority (“NPA”) and National Procurement Institute (“NPI”) held a 2-day training for ACDR Arbitrators and Staff on 18th and 19th September 2019. The training was conducted on Procurement Law and Resolution of Procurement Disputes.

NPI introduced one of their experienced trainers, Mr. Sardar Mohammad Adam, and trainer coordinator, Mr. Emal Safi for the training.

In the beginning of the training the Executive Director of ACDR, Zahid Omarzai, appreciated the cooperation of NPA and suggested long term cooperation. All the participants showed their support and offered assistance.

The training included topics such as terms used in Procurement Law, Award and Termination of Procurement Contracts, Types of Guarantees, Compensation of Damages arising from breach of Procurement Contracts and Resolution of Procurement Disputes.

The main topic covered on second day of the training was resolution of procurement disputes and also the legal method and solution for NPA to refer procurement disputes for resolution through arbitration in ACDR. The participants of the training including the ACDR team provided NPI trainers with practical solutions for resolution of procurement disputes through arbitration in ACDR.

The training also included a Q&A session. During the mentioned session the trainer provided detailed answers to the participants on questions related to procurement law and resolution of procurement disputes.
