An appreciation ceremony to officially recognize the cooperation of Harakat with ACDR was held by ACDR on 16 July 2020. Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar, ACCI and ACDR Chairman, Mr. Sayed Zaman Hashemi, ACCI CEO, Mr. Zahid Omarzai, ACDR Executive Director, Mr. Noor Alam Hakimyar, CEO of Harakat Afghanistan, Mr. Abdul Rahman Mujahid, Harakat Program Director, ACDR arbitrators, Harakat and ACCI staff, and law lecturers from different Universities of Afghanistan participated in the mentioned appreciation ceremony.
At the beginning, Mr. Tawakal Ahmadyar appreciated the assistance and cooperation of Harakat to ACDR. He further added, in order to develop the private sector in Afghanistan, coherent and sustainable programs are required to be implemented. In addition, he praised the activities of ACDR in quick resolution of commercial disputes through alternative dispute mechanisms particularly arbitration in Afghanistan.
Mr. Noor Alam Hakimyar, in addition of providing his gratitude to the ACDR and ACCI, mentioned that the ACDR and ACCI have been the strategic partners of Harakat in Afghanistan and Harakat will always remain supportive to the ACDR and ACCI. He stressed the importance of ACDR dispute resolution services particularly arbitration for the business and legal communities in Afghanistan.
Mr. Sayed Zaman Hashemi, ACCI CEO, also provided his appreciation for the assistance of the Harakat with ACDR and ACCI. Mr. Hashemi also added that the ACDR has secured its position not only in Afghanistan but in the region. Moreover, He also provided information regarding the MoU between ACCI and Harakat to develop an online platform for the issuance of certificates of origin and considered the establishment of such system as an important step in the growth of Afghanistan export. The system, which is anticipated to be developed soon, shall be connected to the system of Ministry of Finance of Afghanistan and the regional project.
Mr. Zahid Omarzai, ACDR Executive Director appreciated the Harakat for its continued cooperation and stressed the importance of Harakat’s support in development of commercial dispute resolution through promotion of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in Afghanistan. He also recognized the technical and financial support of Harakat including translation of ACDR Arbitration Rules in Pashto language, organizing an event for launching the ACDR arbitration rules and introduction of online dispute resolution in Afghanistan, financing the printing of ACDR’s branding materials, and provided additional information regarding the future cooperation of Harakat with ACDR.
At the end, Mr. Vahid Afzali, ACDR arbitrator provided information about alternative dispute resolution mechanisms particularly arbitration for the participants of the appreciation ceremony.
At the end of the ceremony, a recognition certificate and award prepared by ACDR was presented to Mr. Noor Alam Hakimyar by Mr. Tawakal Ahamadyar for the cooperation of Harakat.
The ACDR in cooperation with Harakat is determined to take practical steps for the development and improvement of commercial dispute resolution in Afghanistan.
