Our Mission

The Afghanistan Centre for Dispute Resolution’s mission is to support attracting and maintaining local and international business and investment in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan through offering alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services that are cost-effective, transparent, and accountable.

Our Vision

We envision ACDR as the place where local and international businesses, organizations, and people go to gain access to fair, cost effective and reliable alternatives, such as mediation and arbitration, for dispute resolution outside of the court system. We envision ACDR as a significant contributor to improving Afghanistan’s business and investment environment.

Our Values

Independence and Fairness
ACDR’s professionals and processes will ensure independence in the provision of mediation and arbitration services. We believe that ADR must not only be provided by neutral and independent professionals, but also that businesses, organizations, and people have trust and confidence in the reliability, independence and fairness of our services.
Professionalism
The core of ACDR’s service is professionalism, and we feel it is vital that our professionals receive constant and ongoing training in the most effective professional practices in ADR, and interact with peer ADR providers around the world to remain on the cutting edge of the profession.
Accountability
We believe that accountability is the pillar of ACDR’s reputation and the quality of our services. We believe that without accountability in place, there can be no assurance in the quality of services and professionals. Consequently, we have established accountability systems to monitor the performance of our professionals and provide redress for persons that feel they have not been treated fairly or impartially.

ACDR’s strengths are the integrity and transparency we bring to ADR in Afghanistan. We have created effective processes that provide checks and balances and work to ensure an environment that is free from corruption. We believe in conducting ourselves openly and publicly, excepting only where party confidentiality must be protected.
